Congress’ first list of candidates for Punjab polls out – Charanjit Singh Channi fielded from Chamkaur Sahib, Navjot Singh Sidhu from Amritsar East

Chandigarh: The Congress on Saturday released its list of 86 candidates for the upcoming Assembling polls in Punjab, fielding Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi from Chamkaur Sahib, and party’s state chief Navjot Singh Sidhu from Amritsar East.

Pratap Singh Bajwa will contest from Qadian while singer Sidhu Moosewala has been fielded from Mansa and Sonu Sood’s sister Malvika Sood from Moga.

Currently, Channi represents the Chamkaur Sahib seat only in Punjab Assembly.

The list of candidates was finalised during two rounds of the Congress party’s Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting this week.

Punjab will go to the polls in a single phase on February 14 and the results will be announced on March 10.
