Bijnor: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s first hybrid rally in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh has been called off due to bad weather. He will now be addressing the rally virtually later today. PM was slated to address the rally at the Vardhman Degree College in Bijnor.
This was slated to be PM Narendra Modi’s first ‘hybrid’ rally, which means that while he would be physically addressing a limited number of party workers, the address will be broadcast live across various constituencies in Uttar Pradesh.
In his virtual address, PM will be addressing party workers from 21 constituencies of three districts that go to the polls in the second phase of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections 2022. PM Modi’s rally will be broadcast live by the BJP state unit which has put up massive LED screens at 109 divisions.
COVID, EC norms in place
In accordance with COVID-19 protocols in Uttar Pradesh and in line with the Election Commission of India norms, 1000 people will be physically attending PM Modi’s rally in Bijnor today. About one lakh people are expected to watch the PM’s Bijnor rally across BJP’s divisional centers.
According to the BJP Uttar Pradesh unit’s Twitter handle, the Bijnor rally will begin at 11.30 am. “PM Narendra Modi will address voters from Bijnor, Moradabad, and Amroha as a part of Jan Choupal program on February 7,” the BJP4UP Twitter handle said.
Uttar Pradesh goes to the polls in seven phases starting February 10. The BJP, which is in power in the state, is confident of returning to power in UP elections 2022. PM Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, UP CM Yogi Adityanath are among star campaigners for UP elections 2022. The results for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections 2022 will be announced on March 10.
