In 2017, Zanai Bhosle started working with India’s first transgender band titled ‘6 Pack,’ which was sponsored by Yash Raj Films. This band uses musical instruments like hands, feet, boxes, buckets, bottles, tea packs, cups, spoons, and whistles. Zanai Bhosle’s first song recorded with this band was ‘Hil Pori Hila,’ which was earlier sung by Usha Mangeshkar in 1973. The video of the transformed song featured the 25 deprived children of the Salaam Bombay Foundation of Mumbai. Once, in an interview with a media house, Zanai Bhosle stated that each human community must be given an equal opportunity to outshine. She stated,
They (transgenders) are ill treated in the society. I hope my song makes a difference in the way transgenders are treated in our society. I feel everyone should be treated equally…after all we are human being.”
