Photo : ANIPatna: Former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav’s eldest son will today launched a ‘Nyay Yatra’ in support of the Rashtriya Janata Dal chief, following his recent conviction in the Doranda fodder scam case. Earlier this week, the Hasanpur MLA had suggested that his father had been implicated by the CBI, even as Lalu Prasad moved the Jharkhand High Court challenging his conviction and sentence by a special CBI court. The yatra is being launched under the Chhatra Janshakti Parishad (an independent student body that he had floated last year) from Patna, with Tej Pratap telling Times of India ahead of the event that he would visit each and every corner of the state to campaign for his father. Lalu Prasad, he reiterated, had been victimised for raising the voices of the poorer stratas of society. The rath bearing the RJD supremo’s message, he had said, would pass through villages to make people aware about the situation.Hitting out at the BJP-JD(U) government at the helm of affairs, Tej Pratap had also recently questioned why no action had been taken against CM Nitish Kumar. “Why was Nitish Kumar not punished for murder?” he had asked during an interaction with Times Now on Monday after the verdict was announced.”If Lalu Ji would have shaken hands with BJP then he would have been called Raja Harishchandra but today he is fighting against RSS- BJP hence he is facing imprisonment. We’ll not get scared with this,” his brother and fellow RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav had contended after the conviction was announced.Related News’Govt may not last long’: JD(U) warns BJP over MLA’s ‘Centre should withdraw voting rights of Muslims’ remarkThe RJD supremo was sentenced to five years rigorous imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs 60 lakh earlier this month.
