Lucknow: Union Law Minister and BJP leader Kiren Rijiju accused Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav of insulting Lord Buddha by allegedly not accepting his bust at an Uttar Pradesh election 2022 rally in Kaushambhi.

Rijiju tweeted a video in which a Samajwadi Party leader was seen presenting Yadav a statue of Lord Buddha, while the latter apparently asking that it be kept backstage. The alleged incident happened few days ago during an UP election 2022 election rally in Kaushambi.

pic.twitter.com/xbVMM1jp4s

“I knew that Akhilesh Yadav was never serious about the sentiments of Dalits, but this open insult of Lord Buddha is an insult of India’s ethos,” the Kiren Rijiju tweeted in Hindi.
