ASI orders estimation for restoration of ancient Surya temple in Nalgonda

Nalgonda: Archeological Survey of India(ASI) has issued orders for preparation of estimation for restoration of ancient Surya temple located at Akaram village of Shaligowraram mandal in Nalgonda district. In the order issued by Superintending Archeologist, conservation assistant of Golkonda Sub-Circle M Naveen Kumar has been directed to finalise the estimates for restoration of Surya temple at Akaram. Village sarpanch K Samaram said that Naveen Kumar spoke to him over phone and inquired the details of the temple. The official also informed that he would soon visit the temple. The ancient Surya temple dates back to 11th Century and is in a dilapidated condition. Its condition was highlighted after the Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan tweeted a story published in Telangana Today on the temple and assured to use her office for its temple.
