Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Azad meets Akhilesh Yadav
Lucknow: Ahead of Uttar Pradesh elections 2022, Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Azad on Thursday met Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav. Azad Samaj Party is a political outfit which is headed by Chandrashekhar.
Notably, Akhilesh Yadav has stitched an alliance with several smaller parties to bolster his party’s chances in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh elections 2022.
The Bhim Army chief has often claimed that Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati has not done enough to uplift the Dalits in Uttar Pradesh. Chandrashekhar is a native of Saharanpur in western Uttar Pradesh.
It may be noted that BJP is facing the tough task of repeating its performance of the 22017 Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls in which it secured 53 out of 58 constituencies in the western part of the state.
Azad’s meeting with Yadav comes after OBC leaders like Swami Prasad Maurya, Dharam Singh Saini resigned from the Yog Adityanath Cabinet.
