Kothagudem: Government Whip and TRS district president Rega Kantha Rao inspected the ongoing works of Sitarama Lift Irrigation Project at Ammagaripalli in Aswapuram mandal in the district on Friday.
The State government has taken up the ambitious project with an estimated cost of about Rs 26000 crore to irrigate agriculture lands in erstwhile Khammam and neighbouring districts, he said.
Kantha Rao noted that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has been paying special attention to the Sitarama project designed to irrigate 6.74 lakh acres of land. He asked the engineering officials about the progress of pump houses, canals and other works.
