MK Stalin, Raghav Chadha, others condole death of legendary Australian spinner

The spin legend died of a suspected heart attack in Thailand, according to media reports quoting a statement from his management. “Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived,” said the statement reported by the Fox website. “The family requests privacy at this time and will provide further details in due course,” it added. Soon after the reports of Warne’s death surfaced, reactions started pouring in from politicians across India. A look at some of the reactions by politicians: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin said he was “shocked” to learn about the demise of Warne. “Shocked to learn about the sudden demise of Australian spin legend #ShaneWarne. Can’t avoid but say ‘Gone too soon’. I convey my deepest condolences to his family, fans and cricket fraternity who mourn the loss of a true genius,” Stalin tweeted.

We’ve all have grown up watching his wizardry with the ball. Gone too soon!” West Bengal unit of Congress also offered condolences. “We’re deeply saddened to hear about the passing away of the legendary Australian cricketer #ShaneWarne. Our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and fans. May his soul RIP!” the tweet said. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP PC Mohan also paid condolences to the great spinner. “Flummoxed by the ripper, a bewildered Strauss was left shouldering his arms and wondering what exactly had happened. The whole cricketing world feels the same to hear that #ShaneWarne has passed away at the age of 52. Rest in peace, Legend!” Mohan tweeted.

In his career, Warne played 145 Tests for Australia, picking up 708 wickets. He played 194 ODI matches.
