Bhopal: A four-year-old girl sustained severe injuries on Saturday afternoon when she was brutally mauled by a pack of stray dogs at Anjali Vihar Colony in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal. The terrifying attack was caught on a CCTV camera mounted there.

The injured girl has been admitted to a hospital for treatment. The CCTV footage showed the tot being chased by at least five aggressive dogs. She attempts to flee in panic before a determined canine locked onto her clothes. Subsequently, she lost balance and fell to the ground. The dogs then surrounded her and began mauling her. At one point it appeared that she might not survive, but then a person rushed to rescue her. The person chased the dogs away, following which the tot got up and left in horror.

The horrifying video of the attack has gone viral on social media. Bag Sewania SHO Sanjeev Chouksey stated that he saw the clip on social media, but the matter has not been reported to the police yet. The girl is being administered treatment at a medical facility. Her parents work as labourers, a report published by The Times of India stated.

This comes weeks after a pack of stray dogs mauled a 12-year-old boy to death at Padli Grant village within the limits of Mirzapur police station in Saharanpur district. After the incident, local residents voiced their anger over the menace of stray dogs in the area.

In yet another incident, some miscreants killed five street dogs by pouring acid into their mouths. The incident — which occurred in Mahalaxmi Nagar locality of Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh on September 2 — had led to a huge public outcry.

The incident came to light after a person dialled an Indore-based animal rights group. The caller informed the animal rights group that some strays died after being attacked with acid. Subsequently, the animal rights group approached the police.
