PM Modi chairs high-level meet to review India’s security preparedness

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting on Sunday to review India’s security preparedness and the prevailing global scenario amid the ongoing conflict in war-hit Ukraine. The meeting was attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, NSA Ajit Doval, Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Srhingla and other senior officials. The prime minister has chaired a number of such meetings to spearhead India’s efforts to safely bring back its nationals who have been scrambling to leave Ukraine after Russia launched an attack on it.

The country has also been able to rescue several citizens of the neighbouring countries like Bangladesh and Nepal through ‘Operation Ganga’.
