New Delhi: In a blistering attack on Samajwadi Party supremo Akhilesh Yadav, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan compared him to Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.

Addressing an election rally in Deoria, Shivraj took a swipe at the SP chief saying “one who wasn’t loyal to his father cannot be loyal to the voters of the state”.

“Mulayam Singh himself said so. Aurangzeb jailed his father and killed his brothers. Mulayam Singh says no one has humiliated him the way Akhilesh did,” the MP CM said.

Shivraj also targeted Akhilesh over his ‘Baba’ jibe at Yogi Adityanath.

“BABA means Brave – who shows mafia their places. ‘A’ means someone who is active, always working for people. Another ‘B’ means Brilliant, takes instant decisions, punishes with bulldozers and ‘A’ means attentive. This is Yogi Adityanath,” he added.

This statement from Shivraj comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi also attacked Akhilesh Yadav saying that the CM-candidate is “insecure” about his seat and had to plead to his father, whom he had “humiliated” to capture the party, to save him from defeat in the constituency.

“You can gauge the direction of the wind… The seat, which these people were considering as the safest, is also getting out of their reach,” Modi said in an apparent reference to the Karhal seat from where Yadav is contesting in the family stronghold of Mainpuri.

You must have seen, the father who was pushed from the stage was humiliated and the party was captured, he had to plead to him for saving the seat, the PM said.

Ahead of polling in the third phase, SP patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav had campaigned for Akhilesh Yadav on the seat though he has maintained a low profile during this election.
