Man held for posting objectionable photo of Yogi Adityanath, Mayawati on social media in Gautam Buddh Nagar

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath and BSP supremo MayawatiNoida: A person was arrested in Uttar Pradesh’s Gautam Buddh Nagar district for allegedly posting ‘objectionable’ picture of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Bahuaj Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on social media, police said. The accused had shared the morphed picture of Adityanath and Mayawati on Facebook on March 13. The arrested person has been identified as Amir Khan, a resident of the Jewar district.The FIR was lodged by the Jewar Police after taking note of the reaction of several social media users over the objectionable post.”The accused has been identified as Amir Khan, a resident of Dayanatpur village under Jewar police station limits. He was held near the Sabauta underpass on Tuesday morning,” a police spokesperson said.Khan was booked under Indian Penal Code sections 152B (imputations and assertions prejudicial to national integration), 505(2) (public mischief) and under provisions of the Information Technology Act.Umesh Bahadur, the SHO of Jewar Police Station, informed that Khan worked as a daily-wage construction worker.”He did not share with the police why he had put out the morphed picture,” he told PTI.The police registered the FR after a Twitter user highlighted the matter. The FIR was lodged on a complaint by a local police official who probed the matter.
