‘Manipur Exit Poll is laughable, we will get 20+ seats’, says NPP supremo Yumnam Joykumar Singh

Imphal: The National People’s Party Supremo Yumnam Joykumar Singh has questioned the exit polls of the Manipur elections. “Few people have been shown to have won, but we will see what happens when the results are out on March 10,” said Yumnam Joykumar Singh.An early poll of exit polls shows the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerging as the single-largest party in Manipur, while, NPP has been kept in the third position behind the Congress. The NPP has contested the Assembly Elections solo breaking away from the alliance the party had with the BJP.The former Deputy Chief Minister (CM) of Manipur is confident that NPP will get 20 plus seats. “As per the exit polls we will be third, but we will see. The party was the kingmaker in the 2017 Manipur Assembly elections when they supported the BJP to form the absolute majority. The NPP has intended to dominate Manipur politics instead of being a kingmaker. “Without us, nobody could form the government last time but this time we want to dominate the Manipur elections and we are sure of that with 20 seats,” added Yumnan Joykumar.The leader has stated that there is no contradiction that the NPP which is in Northeast Democratic Alliance (NEDA) with the BJP has contested solo in Manipur.
