Career
She started her career as a radio jockey and worked with World Space Satellite Radio for a few years. She then joined Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM and worked for almost a decade. She gained immense popularity for the unique style of RJ. She started with the night shows, but after her increasing popularity, she was shifted to morning shows. In 2013, she played the role of an RJ in the Kannada film ‘Simple Aag Ondu Love Story’ (2013) starring Rakshit Shetty and Shwetha Srivatsav.

Death
On 22 February 2022, she complained of chest pain while she was at her residence in Jayaprakash Nagar, Bangalore. She was immediately rushed to the nearby hospital where she was declared dead. Reportedly, she had battled depression earlier. On her demise, her fellow RJs shared their condolence through their social media accounts. RJ Swetha Chengappa took to Instagram to share her grief. She wrote,
She was one of my favourite RJ. Very sensible, her command over language was too good. I have never met her in person before. Feeling disheartened to say that I will never get a chance to meet her in the future. Very very sad to know that she is no more.”
RJ Pradeep uploaded a post on his Instagram account and wrote,
May your soul rest in peace RJ Rachana. She was definitely one of the best Jock of Namma Bengaluru. Heart Attack at this young age. What’s happening.”
Former RJ and actress Sujatha Akshaya uploaded a post on Instagram. She wrote,
Not able to believe. Om shanti. Will always remember our friendship Racchu.”
