Photo : ANIPune: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that the Union Government was able to bring thousands of Indian nationals home due to the country’s growing influence.”It is due to India’s growing influence that we are able to bring home thousands of Indians stranded in Ukraine, many big countries are facing difficulties in doing so for their citizens,” PTI quoted PM Modi as saying while speaking at Pune’s Symbiosis University.”Your generation is fortunate to not have experienced defensive and dependent, and the credit should be given to the youth, all of you, for the change that has been brought in the country, the Prime Minister added.PM Modi earlier today laid the foundation stone and inaugurated multiple development projects including a 12 km stretch of a total 32.2 km Pune Metro Rail Project.Prime Minister Modi also travelled from Garware College Metro station to Anand Nagar Metro station on Pune Metro and interacted with schools students on board the metro train.Operation GangaAmid the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, India is evacuating its citizens stranded in Ukraine from its neighbouring countries as the Ukrainian airspace has been shut down since February 24. The government has named the evacuation operation ‘Ganga’ and has evacuated nearly 13,500 Indians from the neighbouring countries of war-hit Ukraine. Meanwhile, the Indian Embassy in Hungary has said that it has begun its last leg of Operation Ganga flights today. “All those students staying in their own accommodation (other than arranged by Embassy) are requested to reach Hungaria City Centre , Rakoczi Ut 90, Budapest between 10 am-12 pm,” the embassy said in its advisory.
