Aid for poor to build houses from this month: KTR

Hyderabad: While granting of new pensions is to be taken up from next month, financial assistance to the poor to build houses will commence this month and English medium in government schools will be introduced in June, said Municipal Administration & Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao here on Friday.
Participating in the inaugural of newly set up facilities and also laying the foundation stone for various developmental works in the Uppal constituency taken up with an estimated cost of Rs 738.59 crore, he said the state government has taken up a host of development works to reach out to all sections of the society. The handing over of 2BHK houses being built under the Telangana government’s Dignity Housing Scheme will start after the Assembly session ends.

More development works were taken up in the present government’s tenure than the earlier governments who were in power for over 60 years. And, improvement in health infrastructure was no exception. “Four hospitals will come up in four sides of Hyderabad and one such facility is the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences that will come up in LB Nagar equipped with 1,000 beds,” the Minister said. Rama Rao inaugurated the Uppal Theme Park and Vaikunta Dhamam at Mallapur and also laid the foundation stone for the Uppal flyover being built under Strategic Road Development Plan, a sewerage treatment plant in Nacharam and Strategic Nala Development Programme works in Ramanthapur.
The Minister said the State government is simultaneously taking up developmental activities along with welfare schemes and rolled out a series of projects, including flyovers and skywalks, to ease the traffic issues at Uppal junction.
Labour Minister Ch Malla Reddy, Mayor G Vijaya Laxmi, Uppal MLA Bethi Subhas Reddy, Deputy Mayor Mothe Srilatha Shoban Reddy, former Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, also participated.
