Ambedkar statue at NTR Gardens soon, says KT Rama Rao

Hyderabad: A 125-foot statue of Dr BR Ambedkar will come up at NTR Gardens soon, Municipal Administration & Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao said here on Thursday.   
He was speaking after inaugurating the Indira Nagar Dignity Housing Colony in Khairatabad.
“In Hyderabad, this is one of the best 2BHK housing sites with IMAX on one side, a new Secretariat being built and a 125-foot statue of Dr BR Ambedkar that will come up soon,” the Minister said.
Hyderabad Newsclick here for more Hyderabad NewsHe also announced that a function hall would be constructed in the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) land parcel located in Khairatabad ward.
“Though the State government can generate crores of revenue by auctioning the HMDA land parcel spread over one acre, a function hall will be built on the land to benefit the poor,” the Minister said.
The Indira Nagar Dignity Housing Colony inaugurated on Thursday comprises 210 dwelling units spread over four blocks and was built by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation at a cost of Rs.1,785 lakh. The project was built under the 2BHK housing scheme.

Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav and Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Mayor G Vijaya Laxmi, Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender, GHMC Commissioner DS Lokesh Kumar and others were present.
