Bihar COVID: 87 doctors of Nalanda Medical College test positive; state reports 352 fresh cases |

Patna: Eighty-seven doctors of Nalanda Medical College and Hospital (NMCH) in Bihar have tested positive for COVID-19. Patna District Magistrate informed that all the doctors who have been infected with coronavirus are either asymptomatic or have mild symptoms and are in isolation at the hospital campus.

Notably, several junior doctors of NMCH had attended an Indian Medical Association (IMA) function in Patna last week. Notably, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and a number of dignitaries had attended the IMA function was attended by a number of dignitaries.

Earlier, on Saturday two doctors of AIIMS, Patna had tested positive for Covid-19.

According to the IMA, Bihar was among the states reporting the highest number of doctors’ deaths during the second wave earlier this year.

Earlier, on January 1, 2022, two doctors of AIIMS, Patna tested were found to be infected with the deadly contagious virus.

Bihar on January 2 registered 352 fresh cases of coronavirus with Patna remaining the worst affected district.

As per the state health department, Bihar has 1074 active COVID cases.
