Khammam: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao launched Dalit Bandhu Scheme to empower the Dalits across the State, said Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar. He said the scheme which was aimed at socio-economic development of the Dalits, was a unique scheme in the country and testifies the Chief Minister’s commitment towards the Dalit empowerment.
On Saturday, Ajay Kumar along with District Collector VP Gautham interacted with the scheme beneficiaries during an awareness programme at Irlapudi village in Raghunathapalem mandal in Khammam Assembly segment and cleared their doubts.

The Minister informed that it was decided to implement the scheme on saturation basis at the village by selecting 100 beneficiaries. The scheme which was the brainchild of the Chief Minister, would help to eradicate social inequalities in the society. He said the scheme would benefit 100 people in all constituencies in the State in the first phase as a pilot project and would be extended to all Dalits in phases thereafter for the economic growth of all Dalits.
Ajay Kumar advised the selected beneficiaries to establish profitable business and industrial units and succeed. He told them to draw inspiration from those who excelled in business and industries with less investment. “The Chief Minister wants you to become a millionaire. The beneficiaries were given complete freedom and flexibility to do your business. To date no government in India has provided such an opportunity,” the minister asserted.
One should have the zeal to earn Rs 50 lakh with Rs 10 lakh provided under the scheme, he said while expressing happiness that Chintakani mandal in Khammam district was among the four mandal selected as a pilot project in the State for implementing the scheme on saturation basis.
“Those who questioned how the government could implement Rythu Bandhu were now again questioning the how the government could implement Dalit Bandhu. And they would soon have their answer as Rythu Bandhu has already been a success,” Ajay Kumar explained.
The Minister performed ‘Palabhishekam’ to the portrait of the Chief Minister on the occasion. ZP Chairman L Kamal Raju, Municipal Commissioner Adarsh Surabhi and others were present.
