Mumbai: A day after BJP leader Kirit Somaiya filed a police complaint alleging ‘scam’ in COVID centre contract, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Wednesday said a father-son duo will go to jail. The Sena leader came down hard at Somaiya alleging that the BJP leader himself is alleged of blackmailing.
“Skeletons are tumbling out of closet.Self-Proclaimed Crusader Kirit Somaiya himself is alleged of blackmailing. Victims of Somaiya’s extortion racket are now speaking up.I appeal the #CBI & #anticorruptionBureau of Mah’tra govt to jointly investigate Kirit’s dirty extortion game,” Raut tweeted.
Without mentioning the name of any politician, Raut tweeted in Marathi: “Father-son duo will go to jail. Wait and watch. Sanitisation of the barrack is going on.”
The Shiv Sena MP on Tuesday alleged the BJP is misusing central agencies to topple the Maharashtra government by targeting the ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi leaders. Raut launched a blistering attack on Somaiya alleging that his son, Neil Somaiya, had links with Rakesh Wadhwan, an accused in the PMC bank fraud.
Raut said he will submit relevant documents to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and demand suitable action against Kirit Somaiya and his son Neil.
Somaiya categorically denied all allegations and said that he was ready to face any investigation.
“I have done nothing wrong. I was never indulged in corruption. I am ready to face any inquiry,” the BJP leader said.
Days back, Raut had taken aim at the Opposition BJP and said that “three-and-a-half” leaders of the saffron unit will go to jail and former Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh will walk out of the jail.
Somaiya had also accused Thackerays of possessing a benami property in Alibaug in the Raigad district.
Slamming Somaiya, Raut had dared the BJP leader to prove the charges and said an outing could be arranged to Alibaug to check the facts.
