Lucknow: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday launched a blistering attack at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Samajwadi Party (SP) accusing them of ignoring the issues of development and social justice, and rather focusing on politics of religion.

He also announced the Bhagidari Sankalp Morcha will contest the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections on 100 seats and also confirmed the alliance’s one of the two chief ministerial candidates.

While speaking to media, the AIMIM chief said, “It’s not about social justice. The fight is over who is a greater Hindu between Yogi or Akhilesh. Both are competing to become a greater Hindu than Modi. If one talks about a temple, the other talks about another temple.”

Owaisi also announced that out of 403 seats under the Bhagidari Sankalp Morcha, we will contest about 100 seats.

Further confirming his alliance’s strategy, he said, “All parties under Bhagidari Sankalp Morcha have decided that Babu Singh Kushwaha will be our convenor. If we win he will be our CM for the first 2.5 years and the remaining 2.5 years we will have a Dalit CM.”

“We will also have three Deputy CMs – one from Muslim community and two from backward communities,” he added.

Uttar Pradesh will go to the polls for its 403-member assembly in seven phases on February 10, 14, 20, 23, 27 and March 3 and 7. The counting of votes will take place on March 10.
