]]>Hyderabad: Freedom fighter and Padmashree awardee Dr Takkella Venkaiah Narayana passed away on Tuesday morning.
Born on July 26, 1925 at Bollaram, Narayana was highly qualified educationally. He started his career as a teacher with a salary of Rs 30 and became the chairman and president, council member and trustee of many educational institutions including universities, colleges and schools.
He was the District Education Officer before becoming Secretary of Board of Secondary Education. He served as the Director of National Handloom Development Corporation. He was committed to the cause of marginalised sections.
