Hyderabad: Eminent French writer Patrick Deville, who specializes in non-fiction novels based on real personalities, places, and events, is all set to explore India for his next novel in the genre. He is currently in India on his second visit and is exploring the personalities and places that inspire him to write his next non-fiction novel.
Delivering an online talk as a resource person on the theme of ‘Contemporary works on non-fiction in France’, organized by the Department of French and Francophone Studies, English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), Deville stated that he was writing novels based on real life personalities, events, and places. “I travel to write. I do not create characters, events, or places in my novels and all of the novels are non-fictional,” he said.

A globetrotter, he had travelled extensively from the East to the West and his earlier writings were based on his travel experiences in Latin America, Middle East, and other places.
EFLU Vice Chancellor and UGC Member, Prof. E Suresh Kumar appreciated the efforts of the French and Francophone Studies department, Faculty of European Studies, for taking the initiative in organising the online talk with an eminent writer.
