Amid massive uproar by the opposition, Finance Minister Jagdish Devda presented the state budget worth Rs 2,79,237 lakh crore for 2022-23. The aim of this budget is to make the Madhya Pradesh ‘Atma-Nirbhar’ state and in a big relief for the people, no new taxes have been imposed. While presenting the budget, the Finance Minister said that the aim of the budget is to make the Madhya Pradesh ‘Atma-Nirbhar’ state. In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of promoting zero budget natural farming in India, the state government has set a target area of 99,000 hectares for this year. The state government is taking care of 2.55 lakh cattle in government and private shelters will provide shelter to 2.90 lakh bovines in 1,945 facilities in the next fiscal year. Door to door veterinary service will start in the state. Rs 3500 crore has been allotted for MNREGA. The state government has also approved the construction of a medical device park in Ujjain, industrial parks in Bagrod and Berasia in Bhopal and solar plants in Sagar, Shajapur and Ujjain. 11 new industrial areas will be developed which are expected to generate 11,000 jobs. No new tax has been imposed in this budget and the expected GDP is 4.56 per cent. In a big push for fisheries, Chief Minister Fisheries Scheme will be started and Rs 50 crore has been proposed for the same. 13,000 teachers will be appointed. The state government has also decided to increase the seats for MBBS and nursing courses. Before presenting the Budget in the State Assembly, Jagdish Devda said the budget is going to be as per the expectations of the people. Speaking to ANI today before the Budget presentation, he said, “The budget is going to be as per the expectations of the people. All the sections of the society will be catered to in this budget.”
