Hunar Haat expo, platform to showcase ‘Hunar’

Hyderabad: More than 700 artisans and craftsmen from more than 30 states and UTs with rich traditional offerings are participating in the 37th ‘Hunar Haat’ being held at NTR Stadium, Indira Park.

The expo which is on till March 6 aims to provide opportunities for artisans and craftsmen to showcase and sell their products. Over the last seven years, the events have provided earning potential for around 8 lakh artisans and craftsemen, the organisers said.

The participating artisans and craftsmen in this edition of the expo in the city are from across the country including from Telangana, Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Ladakh, Jammu-Kashmir, Punjab, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh.
These artisans and craftsmen have brought with them rare handmade indigenous products made of clay, wood, iron, brass, marble, glass, etc. Also, for the food lovers, the venue has stalls that sell traditional cuisine from different regions of the country.

For entertainment, here is a circus and also a line-up of cultural and musical programmes by several popular artists. Renowned artists of the country such as Pankaj Udhas, Altaf Raja, Sudesh Bhosle, Suresh Wadekar, Mahalakshmi Iyer, Jr. Mahmood, Mohit Khanna, Bhupinder Singh Bhuppi, Rekha Raj, Upsana Singh, Nooran Sisters, Priya Mallick, Gunjan Saxena, Rani Indrani, Ankita Pathak, Ritesh Mishra are among the star performers at Hunar Haat.
Besides, as a part of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”, the expo is also depicting beautifully, the history and role played by great freedom fighters of the country.
Hunar Haats will also be organised in New Delhi, Mysuru, Guwahati, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Patna, Mumbai, Jammu, Chennai, Chandigarh, Agra, Prayagraj, Goa, Jaipur, Bengaluru, Kota, Sikkim, Srinagar, Leh, Shillong, Ranchi, Agartala and other places in the coming days.
