Inter-State drug racket busted in Hyderabad, three held

Hyderabad: The Madhapur police busted drug peddling racket being operated from Odisha to Uttar Pradesh via Hyderabad and nabbed three inter-State drug peddlers here on Monday. Police seized 265 kg of marijuana, a truck and other material, altogether worth Rs.55 lakh.
The arrested persons from Uttar Pradesh were identified as Mohd Iqbal (35) from Hathras, Shahrukh (30) from Firozabad, and Mohd Salim (29) from Etawah.
According to the police, Iqbal has been drug peddling from Odisha to Uttar Pradesh via Hyderabad while two brothers – Shahrukh and Salim operated as truck drivers. They modified the truck with a secret cabin over the top of driver’s cabin and concealed marijuana and transported.

On January 21, the trio loaded 265 kgs of marijuana into nine packets and concealed them in the secret cabin and tool box of the driver’s cabin at Darliput in Odisha and started to Meerut via Hyderabad. When they reached Madhapur on Sunday late night, the police intercepted the truck and nabbed them.
