It’s natural for MGP and BJP to come together, says Fadnavis ahead of counting day

Photo : ANIPanaji: Ahead of the counting day, senior BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday said that Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) is a natural ally of the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP).Interestingly, the MGP has fought the assembly polls in Goa in alliance with the Trinamool Congress (TMC), an arch-rival of the saffron party. “BJP will form a government. We will take several people along with us despite the majority mark. Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) is an independent party. I think ideologically it’s natural for MGP and BJP to come together,” ANI quoted Fadnavis as saying.Exuding confidence in forming the government in the coastal state once again, Fadnavis said that the BJP will get a thumping majority in the assembly elections. “I’m absolutely sure that BJP will get good results, people are ready to come with us, and with them, we’ll get a thumping majority,” he said.He also lashed out at Congress saying that the grand old party doesn’t trust its own MLAs and asserted that it has no prospects of winning the the polls. “How can Congress form the government if it doesn’t trust its own MLAs and locks them up?” he said.
