KCR likely to visit Medaram Jatara on February 18: Indrakaran Reddy

Mulugu: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao is likely to visit the Medaram Sammakka-Sarakka beinnial Jatara on February 18, said Endowments Minister A Indrakaran Reddy here on Saturday.
He said arrangements for the successful conduct of the maha jatara from February 16 to 19 in the district are almost complete and the remaining works will be completed in the first week of February. The Minister and his Cabinet colleagues Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Satyavthi Rathod, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, DGP Mahender Reddy and other officials visited Medaram on Saturday, and inaugurated the police command control room. The Minsiter also inspected the arrangements at the bathing ghats at the Jampanna vagu (rivulet), and enquired about the facilities provided for the benefit of those who take the holy dip in the waters.
Later, reviewing the arrangements made and progress of the works, Indrakaran Reddy said that the State government under the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was according high priority to the Medaram Sammakka-Saralamma Jatara. “Facilities were provided to the devotees for the Medaram jatara with Rs 332 crore since the formation of Telangana State,” he added. “Besides taking special care to check the spread of Covid-19 during the jatara by focusing more on keeping the surroundings clean, a medical camp will be set up at Medaram to provide services to the pilgrims round the clock,” he added.

District Collector is overseeing the arrangements regularly,” he added. The meeting was presided over by District Collector S Krishna Aditya. District level officials all departments also attended the meeting.
