KTR distributes custom-made vehicles under ‘Gift A Smile’ initiative on KCR’s birthday

Hyderabad: Industries Minister KT Rama Rao distributed 300 custom-made vehicles to differently-abled persons under ‘Gift A Smile’ initiative on the occasion of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s birthday on Thursday.
“As We are in public life, an effort was made to do something for people and Gift A Smile initiative was launched. I started the initiative by donating 100 custom made vehicles. Until now, 850 custom made vehicles were donated by public representatives and another 250 vehicles are ready to be distributed very soon,” Rama Rao said.

The Minister thanked all the leaders, who participated in this novel initiative for donating vehicles to the differently-abled persons. Apart from aiding in transportation, these vehicles would also give them opportunities to go out on work, run businesses and make a living, he stated.
The Minister personally interacted with the beneficiaries, besides cutting a cake marking the Chief Ministers birthday.
Addressing on the occasion, the Minister said Gujarat government was giving Rs 600 to Rs 1000 as pension, Madhya Pradesh was giving Rs 300 and Uttar Pradesh was extending Rs 1000. Telangana was extending Rs 3,016 as pension to the differently-abled persons, he said.
Under the leadership of the Chief Minister, Telangana government would support every differently-abled person in the State, he said.
Labour Minister Malla Reddy, MLAs Madhavaram Krishna Rao, KP Vivekanand, MLCs Naveen Rao and others participated in the programme.
