Mumbai: A major incident was averted at Mumbai Airport today after a towing vehicle caught on fire. The incident involved an Air India Pushback Tractor on stand V26R which had been slated to push back a Mumbai-Jamnagar Air India flight with 85 people on board. The fire was extinguished by a nearby team and there was no damage to the plane. 

The incident took place at around 10:45 am on Monday morning while the flight was prepping for departure. Officials said that the fire was put out immediately, and the flight departed around 12 noon. 

Senior Air India officials said that there were no injuries sustained and no damage to anything else. According to an official statement, further details are being sought from the airport ground handler.
