Nation stunned by Rythu Bandhu: Medak MP

Siddipet: MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy on Sunday said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao will stand by the farmers even if the Centre fails to extend support to the farming fraternity in the State.
Participating in Rythu Bandhu celebrations at Agriculture Market Yard in Thoguta, the MP said the Chief Minister had taken the country by storm, having distributed a whopping Rs 50,000 crore to farmers in the State under Rythu Bandhu so far. “The scheme unshackled the farmers from debt trap. Farmers used to find it very difficult to raise the invest required for farming before the onset of monsoon,” he said, adding that they used to borrow the amount at high interest rates by pledging their valuables with money lenders before Rythu Bandhu was introduced.
Chandrashekhar Rao, however, ended their misery by introducing the Rythu Bandhu scheme, Prabhakar Reddy said. En route to Thoguta, the MP visited a sunflower field cultivated by a farmer in Thoguta. He appreciated the farmer for taking up a profitable alternative crop cultivating by putting Rythu Bandhu assistance to best use.
