Hyderabad Newsclick here for more Hyderabad NewsThe trailer depicting the generation gap and differences between the young and the elderly, starts with a sweet-sour banter between father-son-daughter-in-law. Paresh Rawal is seen as a loving father to the character played by Chetan Dhanani while Manasi Parekh plays the role of daughter-in-law.
Ajay is a lawyer and Alka is a professor in a college. The son and daughter-in-law show their irritation over the old man’s habits. And, a massive twist to the tale comes when the father falls to death from the balcony. And, here comes crime branch Inspector Jadeja (Paresh Rawal in double role), who looks exactly like Ajay’s father, to investigate the case.
Behind this happy-looking family, there are some mysteries that need to be unfolded to know what caused the death of the elderly man. The father’s death is intriguing. Is it accident, suicide or murder?

The synopsis of “Dear Father” on the official page of the production company Venus Worldwide Entertainment reads, “The story is a representation of a growing sense of alienation in the minds of the senior citizens of today’s nuclear structures. They are distanced from the mainstream of family action, having been denied the pivotal roles of the now defunct joint families, hence some of them demand attention through the tool of nuisance value. It’s an attempt to show the futility of the so-called fluent logic of today’s pompous professionals in trying to pin down hapless parents in hopeless debates.”
The poster featuring Paresh Rawal released earlier and this trailer now have generated lot of excitement among the audiences to watch the phenomenal actor on the big screen. “Dear Father”, produced by Ratan Jain & Ganesh Jain, is releasing in cinemas on 4th March.
