Bengaluru: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Tejasvi Surya on Tuesday met the aggrieved family of deceased Bajrang Dal activist Harsha who was stabbed to death in Shivamogga on February 20 night. Speaking exclusively to Times Now, the firebrand saffron party leader from Karnataka condemned the brutal killing of Harsha and described the killers as inhuman forces. Surya alleged that in the last decade radical Islamic terrorists have been strengthening their roots in the southern state.

The BJP Lok Sabha MP accused the Popular Front of India (PFI) and the Socialist Democratic Party of India (SDPI) of replicating the “Kerala model of terror” in Karnataka with such brutal killings.

Surya said it would be unfortunate to term Hasrha’s killing as an act of murder. He appealed to the Basavarj Bommai government to investigate the Bajrang Dal activist murder as an act of terror.

“Harsha was a dedicated karyakarta of the Bajrang Dal. It is extremely unfortunate that he was hacked to death in such a gruesome manner by inhuman forces. In almost a decade or so radical Islamic terrorists have been spreading their roots in Karnataka. Radical Islamic outfits like Popular Front of India (PFI), Socialist Democratic Party of India (SDPI) are bringing their Kerala model of terror into Karnataka,” Surya said.

“It would be wrong to treat this incident a murder. This is not a murder for settling personal vendetta…This is an act of terror,” the BJP MP exhorted.

“While we see such killings as isolated murder incidents, the terrorists see these as a design. This is a planned conspiracy. Therefore I request the Karnataka governmnet to not see this case as an act of murder but immediately register cases against the arrested under UAPA and declare this as an act of terror,” he added.

When asked as to what was the reason that the BJP regime in Karnataka has not banned the PFI and SDPI, Surya replied these institutions work in a very clandestine and sophisticated manner and their needs to be an institutional response which unfortunately is yet to be developed in the state.
