Piyush Goyal alleges Congress misled those stranded in Ukraine instead of helping

Photo : ANINew Delhi: Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Wednesday accused Congress and other political parties of misleading those who were stranded in Ukraine amid the Russian invasion instead of helping them. While briefing the media about Operation Ganga, Goyal said “Many countries floundered in evacuating citizens from Ukraine. India still evacuated its citizens through neighboring nations and people brought their pets back too. We evacuated citizens from Nepal, Pakistan, and Bangladesh as well.””Unfortunately, Congress and other political parties were spreading misinformation and misleading people instead of helping families of those stranded in Ukraine while PM Modi was constantly worried about Indians stuck in Ukraine,” he added. The Union Minister further stated that the workers of the BJP approached the families of 18,500 students who were stranded in Ukraine. They met the family members and sent their grievances to the central government, Goyal said.As part of the ‘Operation Ganga’, the Indian government has evacuated about 18ooo citizens from Ukraine’s neighbouring countries so far and have been brought back by special flights.”The number of Indians airlifted by 75 special civilian flights goes up to 15521. IAF had flown 12 missions to bring back 2467 passengers, as part of Operation Ganga, and carried over 32-tonne relief material,” the Ministry of Civil Aviation said in a release.
