Pune: Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut is working with Sharad Pawar to oust Uddhav Thackeray from Maharashtra chief minister post and assume the top post as NCP’s proxy, alleged state BJP chief Chandrakant Patil on Monday.

Making the wild allegations, Patil also told media that there has been an attempt to uproot the foundation of the Mumbai-based residence – Matoshree – of the Thackeray family.

“Whether he considers it or not, Uddhavji is our friend. He is the son of Shiv Sena supremo late Balasaheb Thackeray. We have worked together for several years,” he said.

He went on to add, “We would like to tell Uddhavji that as per what we understand, Raut is working on an agenda given by Pawar saheb. The agenda is to remove you from the chief minister’s position as you have completed two-and-a-half years as CM.”

“…and since Supriya Sule cannot be made CM, for him (Pawar) making Raut the chief minister will be as good as making Sule the CM,” Patil alleged.

Supriya Sule is NCP supremo Sharad Pawar’s daughter and serves as the Lok Sabha member from Baramati in Pune.

BJP has been trying to woo Shiv Sena which broke the alliance with the saffron party following the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly election results.

Sena joined hands with the NCP and Congress and formed a government in the state. The Maha Vikas Aghadi named Uddhav Thackeray as its chief minister.
