Telangana forefront on women’s safety and empowerment: KTR

Hyderabad: Industries Minister and TRS working president KT Rama Rao on Sunday stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, Telangana was at forefront when it comes to women’s welfare, safety and empowerment. One such initiative was KCR kits, he said adding International Women’s Day was just three days away.
The Minister said thanks to KCR kits, institutional deliveries increased by 22 percent in the State and it was highest in the country.

The Minister tweeted “Institutional deliveries increased by 22 percent (from 30 percent in 2014 to 52 percent in 2021).
Similarly, Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) and Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) have reduced much below the national average.
The Minister tweeted “MMR has reduced from 92 to 63 (national average is 113). IMR has reduced from 39 to 23 (national average is 42)”.

He further tweeted “Along with KCR kit, which has 16 items necessary for the mother and child, a financial benefit (Rs.13000 for female child and Rs.12000 for male child) is also provided. After delivery, the mother and child are dropped at home in Amma Oodi vehicles, more than 300 such vehicles introduced,”.
