Hyderabad: In a scathing attack, the TRS slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for questioning the creation of Telangana State. They said the Prime Minister had proved his visceral hatred towards Telangana once again, but remained mum in justifying BJP’s failure to support a progressive State like Telangana. They demanded that Modi apologise to the people of Telangana for his irresponsible remarks.
Strongly condemning the Prime Minister’s statements, Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy said the BJP elected representatives must resign to their posts as well as their party, if they had any shame left in them. He pointed out that Modi came out open with his hatred by speaking about injustice done for Andhra Pradesh, but not about injustice done for Telangana.
Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy said Modi spoke utter lies in the Rajya Sabha which exposed his jealousy and hatred towards Telangana. He said Telangana which was progressing at a faster pace than the BJP-ruled States, notwithstanding the lack of support from the Centre.

He demanded the BJP State leaders to make the Prime Minister apologise for his statements or quit their posts.
Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao objected to Modi’s statements stating that they were against the federal spirit of the nation. He said the BJP has been only taking credit for the Kakinada resolution to gain votes, but had no real intention to create Telangana State, which was evident from the Prime Minister’s remarks.
SC Development Minister Koppula Eeshwar dared the BJP government to fulfill the assurances under AP Reorganisation Act, before making such irresponsible statments.
Peddapalli MP Venkatesh Netha stated that the Prime Minister had disrespected the Constitution of India by finding fault with the process adopted for creating Telangana State which was formed under Article 3 of the Constitution. “Modi said the State was created undemocratically without any discussion in the Parliament. He must explain why no discussion was held in the Parliament on the draconian Farm Laws and many other laws enacted by the BJP government, bulldozing the Opposition parties,” he questioned. On behalf of the TRS MPs, he strongly condemned the Prime Minister’s comments.
Mahabubabad MP Maloth Kavitha demanded to know if the BJP government was not against Telangana, why the Centre failed to address the pending issues of Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act and support the State in its development.
Meanwhile, protests erupted at several places in the State condemning the Prime Minister’s comments against the Telangana State formation. TRS Vidyarthi (student) wing members staged demonstrations and burnt the effigy of the Prime Minister at Basheerbagh in Hyderabad and other places across the State. They stated that the BJP which failed to implement the assurance given under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, was speaking in disrespect of over 1,200 martyrs who lost their lives during Telangana agitation.
