New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has termed elections in Uttar Pradesh essential not only for the development of the state but also for India.

Addressing an election rally in UP, the PM said that the state might be a total of 7 per cent of the country, in terms of area but in terms of population, it comprises over 16 per cent of India’s population.

The development of people of UP gives speed to the development of India, he said adding that the ability of the UPites enhances the ability of the people of India.

‘Dynasty-oriented govts did not do justice to the ability of the state’

He also took a dig at the opposition saying that for several decades, the dynasty-oriented governments did not do justice to the ability of the state.

The PM also slammed the previous governments over the law and order problem.

“Previous governments had closed their eyes from the needs and problems of our daughters. If they had even a little empathy, would they have given the freedom to goons who used to molest our school-going daughters? Today goons know that if they cross boundaries, strict action will be taken,” he added.

‘Dynasts want the poor to be always at their feet’

The Prime Minister also targeted the Opposition parties over dynasty politics stating that dynasts want the poor to be always at their feet and keep revolving around them.

We care for the poor and we are working to bring down the problems of their lives which is why the poor of UP is standing with BJP and is blessing the saffron party in all phases, he added.

‘Entire Uttar Pradesh is my family’

PM Modi also took a swipe at rivals for claiming that they can understand people’s pain more than those who have no family.

We are not ‘parivaar wala’ but we identify the pain of all families because entire India is our family, entire Uttar Pradesh is my family, the PM told voters in Barabanki.

He also cornered the dynasts over the triple talaq matter and asked why they did not care about Muslim daughters when they had to return to their father’s home with their young children.

Why they did not feel the pain of families, the PM questioned.
