Srinagar: Strength of Special Security Group (SSG) personnel guarding three former chief ministers of Jammu and Kashmir, including Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti will be reduced to the bare minimum, a government order stated.

In a letter to the Additional Director General of Police (Security), J&K, Jammu, the government said that based on the recommendations of the Security Review Coordination Committe (SRCC), reduce the posted strength of SSG to the minimum, preferably headed by a DySP, for maintaining continuity.

The order further asked the top cop to post a suitable number of personnel in the security wing 

for the concerned persons. It further directed the competent authority to deploy the remaining SSG personnel to other wings to make the best use of their knowledge, training and expertise.
