Ayodhya, UP: Ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Union Home Minister will visit Ayodhya on Friday to campaign for the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the state.
During his visit to Ayodhya, Shah will be addressing the public meetings during the party’s Jan Vishwas Yatra. He will also pay a visit to Ram Lalla and the Hanumangarhi temple and address three public meetings in Uttar Pradesh.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Uttar Pradesh BJP had stated that the Union Home Minister will visit the Hanumangarhi temple (in Ayodhya) on Friday at 10.30 am, and then will have a ‘darshan’ of Ram Lalla at 11 am. After this, at around 11.30 am, he will address a public meeting.
At 1.00 pm, Shah will address a public meeting in Sant Kabir Nagar. The Union minister is scheduled to hold a roadshow in Bareilly at 3.30 pm, and then address a public meeting in Bareilly at 5 pm.
UP polls to be held in Feb-Mar 2022
The elections will be held to elect 403 members of the Legislative Assembly in Uttar Pradesh in the month of February to March 2022. The main contest will be between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party (SP).
In the last assembly polls in the state, the saffron party bagged 312 seats, while SP won 47 seats, Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) 19 and Congress could manage to win only seven seats. The rest of the seats were bagged by other candidates.
