Raipur: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, on Thursday, alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party and its ideology have been pushing the country towards a catastrophe. Addressing a rally in Raipur in Chhattisgarh, Gandhi alleged that the BJP is dividing the country into two parts, one which belongs to a few ‘billionaires’ and the other belongs to crores of people.

“BJP is dividing our country into two new nations – one with select billionaires, 100-500 people, and second with crores of poor. They think India’s poor are scared, but they aren’t scared of anyone. Development is not any party’s gift but the efforts of poor, farmers. The farmers, workers, and the poor of the country have brought India so far in the past 70 years,” Gandhi said.

Reiterating his often stated stand that the government has been working at the behest of a few businessmen in the country, Gandhi claimed that the 100 richest people in the country have more wealth than 40 percent of the poor in the country.

“And that is the difference between them and us. We want the entire country to progress. Not just a few handful businessmen. Hindustan is a bouquet having different ideologies, cultures, languages but they want a single ideology to rule over it but I’ve said yesterday in Parliament that we’ll not let it happen. We will show BJP the true ‘Hindustan’,” the Wayanad MP said.

Congress should come out of ‘Indira is India’ mindset: Naqvi

Earlier today, Union Minister of Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi slammed the Congress party and said that it should come out of its ‘Indira is India’ mindset as there are no two Indias.

“We need to get out of the hangover of thinking of Indira is India and India is Indira and Congress is the country and the country is Congress,” Naqvi said during the ongoing Budget Session of the Parliament.
