In a dastardly act, a woman and her three daughters were sexually assaulted and forced for religious conversion in the Maharashtra district. Wagh lashed out at the MVA government for not being able to maintain the law and order situation in the state and for ‘compromising’ women’s safety. Yeola police arrested a Bhondubaba (fake baba) and his brother for sexually assaulting a woman and her three daughters. The woman had gone to the baba with the problem that her elder daughter was not getting married. The Baba told the woman that her daughter was bewitched. He gave the woman and her daughters water mixed with drugs. The Bhondubaba and his brother then raped the woman and her daughters. They also filmed the act and started blackmailing the family for two years. The baba also threatened the family demanding money and forced them to convert to Islam.BJP leader Wagh met the victims and promised to give justice to the family. She also met the police officials to review the progress in the investigation.“It was only after I asked police about the matter, things started moving in the case. Still one of the girls is missing and I am worried for her. But it shows the home department’s apathy to protect our women,” Wagh said. The BJP leader expressed shock over the incident and said the culprits have no fear for laws.“It is really sad and shocking that some ‘Baba’ has dared to do the act. The woman and her daughter come from an educated family and are still exploited by this man. This has to stop. I would stand by these women and bring justice for them if police fail to act,” Wagh added.
