New Delhi: Budget session of Parliament to start on January 31. According to agency reports, the Budget Session of the Parliament will commence with the President’s address to both the Houses of the Parliament. It will conclude on April 8, sources were quoted as saying by agencies on the basis of Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union Budget on February 1 and the first part of the Budget Session 2022 will conclude on February 11. The second part of Budget Session 2022 will begin after a month-long recess on March 14 and will conclude on April 8.

“CCPA has recommended part one of Parliament’s Budget Session from January 31 to February 11; part two from March 14 to April 8,” sources told news agency PTI.

The Winter Session of the Parliament witnessed scenes of distress as the Opposition left no stone unturned in attempting to corner the government over the now-revoked farm laws as well as over the suspension of 12 Rajya Sabha MPs. Notably, the Budget Session of the Parliament comes at a time when the number of COVID-19/ Omicron cases in the country has been on a rise.

Times Now has learnt that special arrangements will be made to deal with the COVID-19 situation within the Parliament premises. Days ago, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla took stock of the situation and directed staffers to make necessary arrangements. The seating arrangement may also be altered in order to ensure social distancing between MPs. About two weeks ago, FM Nirmala Sitharaman had held pre-budget consultations with state finance ministers to seek their inputs regarding the fiscal requirements of states.
