Anil Deshmukh has been in judicial custody since November 2021 in connection with money laundering case 
New Delhi: Former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh recorded his statement before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and claimed that there was direct pressure from former Home Minister Anil Deshmukh to re-instate Sachin Vaze.
He also alleged that he received ‘instructions’ from Aditya Thackeray and Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
Singh also claimed that he was instructed to give Vaze charge of some important unit in the Crime Branch after reinstatement.
Singh told ED that reasons for Vaze’s reinstatement are mentioned on the file of the review committee but he would like to state on record that there was direct pressure from Home Minister Anil Deshmukh for his reinstatement.
