New Delhi: BJP leader RP Singh on Monday said that killings will happen if anyone’s remarks on any issue do not go down well with any particular community or section of the society.

He was speaking on the alleged killing of a 23-year-old RSS activist in Karnataka’s Shivamogga district on Sunday.

Reacting to the incident, Singh said, “If you speak on any issue and it does not suit a sect of the society, killings will happen.”

Harsha was allegedly stabbed to death by unknown assailants on Sunday night at the Ravi Varma lane in Bharathi Colony.

Meanwhile, prohibitory orders under section 144 of the CrPC have been clamped in the town and orders have been given to shut all the schools and colleges.

Karnataka Home Minister Araga Jnanendra said that the police have got “vital clues” and would soon arrest those behind the incident.

“A group of 4-5 youth murdered him. I don’t know of any organisation being behind this murder. Law and order situation is under control in Shivamogga. As a precautionary measure, schools and colleges in city limits have been closed for two days,” said Jnanendra.

Earlier today, BJP leader Kapil Mishra condemned the incident and tweeted, “Every day they are killing Kishan, Rupesh, Hira Gujrati, Harsha somewhere On other hand they are spreading rumours of muslims being attacked in India This is the new form of Jihad, media and political leaders are involved in it.”

VHP spokesperson also expressed ire over the incident and said, “The #BajrangDal youth Harsha (26) killed yesternight in #Shivamogga of Karnataka was attacked by Jihadists earlier too. The culprits must be hanged soon. Bajrangdal to have statewide protest this Wednesday.”
