‘Itar Wale Mitra’ accumulated money in their lockers, CM Yogi attacks SP

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi AdityanathPhoto : ANIGorakhpur, UP: As the polling is underway for the fifth phase of assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday lashed out at the Samajwadi Party accusing its leaders of corruption.Addressing a public rally in Gorakhpur, the saffron leader said, “‘Itar Wale Mitra’ accumulated the money in their lockers, focused on ‘Sabka Saath Par Sir Saifai Ka Vikas’…Had it been the SP government, COVID vaccines would have been sold in markets, no poor would have received it… BJP ensured no one was deprived of it.”The Uttar Pradesh CM further claimed that an SP leader told him that when they were in power their agenda was to build ‘Kabristan (cemetry) boundary’.”I asked an SP leader to list development works done under his party. He replied infrastructure, medical facilities, roads were not their priority… He told me further, “Our agenda was to get the ‘Kabristan (cemetry) boundary’ made,” CM Adityanath said.The polling for the fifth round of the seven-phase Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh is being held today. This phase will decide the fate of 692 candidates in the fray for 61 seats across 12 districts. The voting will continue till 6 pm. A total of 34.83 per cent voter turnout has been recorded till 1 pm.Earlier on Saturday, CM Adityanath also held rallies in Ballia and Ambedkar Nagar.”After four phases of polling, I can say this with confidence that there is a wave in favour of the BJP and it will get an absolute majority. Once again BJP will cross the mark of 300 seats,” he had said in Ballia.The remaining two phases will take place on March 3 and March 6. The counting of votes will take place on March 10.
