Karimnagar girl makes mark in cricket in USA

Karimnagar: Growing up in California Trisha Bhima played cricket with family for fun and watched cricket matches on TV for the last three and half years and now she emerged as a crusader for the promotion of the cricket in the schools in the USA.
On a mission to promote the love for the sport of cricket, Trisha Bhima started MSJ Cricket club and organised a donation drive distributing the used cricket equipment to the Friends of Female Cricket organisation in Saint Vincent at the Grenadines to help underprivileged female cricketers in Caribbean Islands. The club also currently aims to organise cricket tournaments among the local schools and plans to incorporate cricket into elementary school physical education programmes.

Trisha also is in the U19 Female cricket team in the Caribbean Islands. During the recent T20 matches, the US team beat the Windward Islands under-19 Female cricket team in 4-1 series. After the match, she donated Cricket gear for the use in Caribbean Islands. Initially, she played basketball, volleyball and soccer. Later, she discovered her passion for cricket and decided to pursue the sport competitively. A novice cricketer, Trisha has emerged as a good bowler and her role model is Pat Cummins, fast bowler and captain of Australian cricket team.
She is the granddaughter of NAFSCOB managing director and president of International cooperative banking association (ICBA), Brussels, Bhima Subrahmanyam. Daughter of Bhima Rajesh, who works with Google and Bhima Ranitha, who works with Facebook, Trisha is a Junior (class XI) in Mission San Jose High School – Fremont, California. She is also the captain of her Varsity Softball team and plays the important role of a catcher on her team. Incidentally, her brother Bhima Ansh (11) is also a cricket player.
