Ludhiana blast case: Man killed in explosion identified as ex-cop, was dismissed from service in 2019

New Delhi: The victim who succumbed to the explosion has been identified as ex-cop Gagandeep Singh and had alleged links to the drug mafia.

Singh was dismissed from service in 2019 after which he served 2 years in prison. Preliminary investigation suggests that the ex-cop was the bomber.

Earlier today, police informed that the person who died in the Ludhiana court blast is believed to have had brought explosives to the District Court Complex.

The blast occurred at 12:22 pm on Thursday and left six others injured.

An FIR was registered on Thursday in the case under the relevant section of the Indian Penal Code, Explosive Substance Act, Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act, and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
