New Delhi: The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) lost 38 soldiers during the Galwan combat with Indian Army troops in June 2020, according to a report in an Australian newspaper. Asaduddin Owaisi, the leader of the AIMIM, said on Thursday that his car was shot at least three to four times at the Chhajarsi toll plaza on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway in Uttar Pradesh. Sensex ends 3-day winning run, drops 770 points; Nifty at 17,560

Ending their 3-day winning streak, domestic benchmark indices closed in red on Thursday amid weak global cues, selling pressure in IT and financials.

The benchmark BSE Sensex tanked 770 points or 1.29 per cent to close at 58,788, while the NSE Nifty plunged 220 points or 1.24 per cent to settle at 17,560. During the trading session, both the indices had touched a low of 58,654 and 17,511, respectively. Read More

Asaduddin Owaisi says bullets fired upon his vehicle near Meerut 

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Thursday alleged that at least three to four rounds of bullets were fired upon his vehicle near Chhajarsi toll plaza on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway in Uttar Pradesh. Owaisi was on his way to Delhi from Kithaur in UP’s Meerut when the incident took place. Demanding an independent probe into the incident, Owaisi said it’s the responsibility of the BJP governments at the Centre and in Uttar Pradesh to set up an inquiry into the matter and find out who was behind the attack. Maharashtra to host league stage of IPL 2022, no venues decided for playoffs: BCCI president Sourav Ganguly

BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has confirmed that India will be hosting the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League. As per Ganguly, the BCCI will be hosting the league stage of the tournament in Maharashtra while the venues for the playoff matches haven’t been decided yet.

“It will be held in India this year, until and unless COVID-19 hits the roof. As far as venues are concerned, we are looking at hosting the matches in Maharashtra – Mumbai, and Pune.
